CORSICA – THE ISLAND-SPECIAL

MAY 9 - 19, 2025

After the grand premiere of the 2024 season, there will now be a nearly unchanged repeat in 2025. The essential experiences right from the start: Corsica means pure adventure! Corsica is incredibly beautiful. And unique. It’s better not to say that you are in France here. However, if you encounter a (mainland) French person, feel free to mention how peculiar you find the Corsicans. No, it’s better to say “special”… Because, despite all that strangeness between the corsicans and the French: Corsica is the French people's favorite holiday island. It’s no coincidence that “la Corse” is referred to when talking about the “Île de Beauté,” the island of beauty. This becomes clearer to the sports car driver kilometer by kilometer. Corsica = an island turned into pure beauty.
Smaller than Sardinia, steeper than Sardinia, more rugged, and on average significantly higher, it is overall a jewel in the open air!

Breathtaking landscapes, picturesque towns, selected culinary treasures, and – what makes the Corsicans so special – the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of the island come together to form a unique, incomparable cosmos. Mentally, one feels closer to Italy, and geographically speaking, it is true, but Corsica has been nominally French for more than 200 years. In the end: Corsica is and remains only one thing: Corsican!

CORSICA – THE ISLAND-SPECIAL

  • Overall, significantly more than 10 weeks of intensive reconnaissance and exploration form a solid foundation for the program you can expect on the island. Finding beautiful routes was not really the challenge; spoiler: they are abundant, even in sufficient to excellent condition. On the other hand, finding suitable and pleasant hotels, that was quite a challenge. Therefore, we are all the happier to present to you five wonderful destinations that have now also been tested during the first Corsica event in May 2024.

Enjoy a relaxed stay in a relais surrounded by a true sea of flowers on the outskirts of Bastia (two nights here), delight in the joy of a modern privatized boutique hotel on the west coast of the island (three nights in this gem that could have come straight from a high-gloss edition of “Architectural Digest”), marvel at the view of Bonifacio from a small hotel resort in the south of the island (two nights here), and unwind in one of the most luxurious five-star hotels in the southeast (two nights) of the island.

You will spend your last night in Corsica in a very special, completely traditional three-star house in the hills above Bastia. We have fallen in love with all the hotels, hopefully immortalized, at first sight. The location of the hotels—both in relation to each other and generally on the island—will allow you to experience the entirety of Corsica during this Corsica-Special.
This also includes the adventure and beauty of the coast seen from the sea. Thus, two boat trips are an integral part of this Corsica Special. Because the Calanques of Piana—beautiful as they are seen from the small road—are best admired from the water. Skipper Léo will present “his” UNESCO World Heritage site in a unique way. Just as unique and yet quite different is sailing in front and at the foots of Bonifacio—we have chartered a catamaran here—where we cultivate a generous dose of “Dolce Far Niente” for a sensory experience on the water, including the best ‘linguine scamp’i personally preparedby the boat's owner and, for those who wish, a jump into the clear water in front of the Plage de Spérone."
